NET METERING BILL (AB 58) Net metering, the law that allows customers with solar panels to connect to the grid and the most effective tool to promote solar energy, is under attack. California's three biggest utilities have amended AB 58 in a way that would undermine net metering and discourage large solar energy systems. The legislature will begin considering the bill on August 12th. Don't let companies that profit from pollution turn out the lights on solar energy. Please send an email now! These provisions would discourage new solar energy in California just when we need it more than ever. Solar energy improves the quality of the air we breathe, builds energy independence and adds power to the grid at the very time of day when it¹s needed most. California should be doing everything possible to support solar energy, and net metering in particular, which costs taxpayers nothing. Those who profit from pollution should not be allowed to dictate the future of solar energy.
